Oh my goodness...

I actually suck! I'm so sorry for being a neglectful blogger recently, can't believe how long it has been since my last post!

There are lots of exciting things coming up at Glitterysah HQ over the next few weeks:

My 1st birthday bash!
The current 30% sale across everything in the shop!
A few awesome craft markets and events
A shiny new shop website
Lots of new products that I'm currently making and designing
The launch of Glitterysah Jewellery Making Parties
And some other stuff I'm sure I've forgotten about...

I will be updating you on all of these things over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out. Head over to the shop and bagsy your favourites before they disappear for ever! Oh, and here's a wee sneak peak of part of my new shop design - just ordered some Moo minicards and this will be one of them :)

Hope you're all well, drop me an email shopkeep[at]glitterysah[dot]com or give us a shout on Twitter, would be lovely to hear from you xxx

Photos and Photoshoots...

Hey folks, hope you're all enjoying the sunshine!! I can't believe how gorgeous the weather has been lately, its amazing how much it affects my mood and makes me smile. This past week has been so good, I hope its been just as sunny and gorgeous where you are!

I was at Sloan's Market with SpoiltPig yesterday and it was great to get some pictures of my handmade prettyness in the sun! Here's a couple for you to see, head over to Facebook for more.

Not sure if it's the sun going to my head or what, but I've had an idea and hopefully you can get involved! It might be a bit mad but have a wee read and leave me comments or email me if you think you can help me.

Basically, for ages now I've wanted to do some kind of proper photoshoot involving my jewellery and accessories. And lately I've been thinking how fun it would be to collaborate with folk and do some kind of joint photoshoot with all our stuff, that we'd all equally benefit from. No money would exchange hands - instead we'd be sharing knowledge, skills, experience, publicity, cake and hopefully lots of giggles!

So if you're a designer, maker, crafter, creative person, photographer, stylist, model or just someone who wants to come along and bring some cake - let me know!! I see this as being something Glasgow/Scotland based for now. We find some awesome localtion (in my mind its somewhere kitschy-retro-vintage-awesome-tastic), we all bring along some stuff (clothes, jewellery, accessories, homewares, props etcetc.), potentially some photography geek looking for experience gets clicking a camera though I'm sure we can all pitch in, maybe someone who knows stuff about lights too? Got Photoshop/Gimp/photo-editing skills? Then you can do any editing that needs done - and voila! We've got ourselves some cool indie photos that we can all use, providing credit is given to everyone involved. Get in touch through commenting here or emailing me and hopefully we can get something cool and indie orgainsed! :D

Vintage dreams...

Wow, its ages since I last blogged! And the crazy thing is I've got lots to share! I will be posting later this week about upcoming markets and schemes I'm working on, with maybe some sneaky-peak photos of new things I've been making... But in the meantime I have some folksy gorgeousness to share with you.

I've been in a mega vintage mood recently. I like to think of it as channeling my inner crazy-old-lady.. she's called Maude or Flora or something like that, and she likes gin and pearls and tea parties and cut flowers and doilies... ahem. I have been listening to loads of vintage jazz on Last.fm and have been desperately hunting for some gorgeous, vintage shoes to fit my monster feet (I'm a UK size 10 which is a total bitch when it comes to buying pretty shoes). And so I thought I'd show you some of my favourite vintage finds from Folksy:

A gorgeous, cherry scented soy candle from Mr. Wick

Its not secret I love all of Trinket Box's jewellery, but I particularly love this vintage-style pendant which would look fab teamed with a vintage tea dress

If I was skinny I'd buy this dress by Neopolitan Dreams in a flash! So pretty!

Again, if I was skinny.... I LOVE this top by Tea at Aunties

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na Super Sah!!!

I'm so excited that today I finally finished watching the entire Batman: The Animated Series, its taken ages cause I only watch it on my own, but I got to the end today (and then went right back to the start! I may also point out that I have watched all of them before already..... geek-face!). So to celebrate, I had a wee hunt on Folksy to find some awesome batman & bat inspired goodies, and I found some great ones!

You may think bats are rather hallowe'en-y for this time of year, but anyone who knows me well and has seen my flock-of-bats tattoo will know I LOVE bats all year round :) So here are some of the amazingly cute bats I found...

How cute is this wee guy?!!! I want him (and all his super-hero pals!) Go visit Nifty Knit's folksy shop to see them all!

And what about this gorgeous wee dude?! Want want want!! Kooky Bat Brooch by Tailor-made (she has a notebook like this too!)

If I didn't already have my bats tattoo on my chest, then I'd sooo be buying this for myself! Black Bat & Full Moon Necklace by Ich Bin.

And finally, I neeeeed this bag!! Its covered in kitschy retro kids cartoons including batman (who you can't see in this pic) - awesome-tastic! Tote Bag by Heiress Apparent.

Cute-Ass Bows

So I thought I'd share with you some pics of my new bow hair clips - I'm in love with them!! I wear them all the time and they look fab and retro with a high up ponytail, or cute and chic with a messy side bun. It doesn't really matter what your hair style is: THEY. LOOK. UBER. CUTE!!! Oh, and if that wasn't enough, they're also all made using upcycled and pre-loved tee shirts and hoodies! The cutest way to be eco-friendly! :D

Apple Blossom Bow - cute pastely shade of green, yum!

Aqua Bow - soft and puffy, big girly bow!

Green Emerald Bow - bright and kitsch!

So what do you think? If you could wear any kind of bow in your hair, what would your favourite colour, pattern or fabric be?
